Installing a New Operating System and Its Device Drivers

Note:You need to have the CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive installed in the UltraBay FX to use the ThinkPad Software Selections CD.

If you want to install a new operating system in your computer, you need to install the ThinkPad device drivers for it at the same time. The Software Selections CD includes the preloaded software and ThinkPad device drivers for Windows 98, Windows 95 and Windows NT.

This section describes how to install a supported operating system and corresponding device drivers using the Software Selections. You should print out the sections you will be using before you reinstall the operating system. Go to the appropriate section depending on the operating system you are using.
