Note: The I/O addresses in parentheses are used also when ECP is enabled as the printer operating mode from the ThinkPad Configuration program or BIOS Setup Utility. When you enable ECP as the printer operating mode from the ThinkPad Configuration program or BIOS Setup Utility, you must select one value from the four selections (including "disabled"). When you use Windows 95 OSR2, do not assign this address. In Windows 95, do not use the Device Manager to change the IRQ of the audio device. Use the BIOS Setup Utility. Normally, the same IRQ is assigned to the PCI Audio device and DOS Emulation mode. See Changing the Audio IRQ Resource Setting in Windows 95.

Changing the Audio IRQ Resource Setting in Windows 95

If you need to change this default setting, you need to modify it in BIOS.

1. Save your work and restart the computer.

2. While the IBM ThinkPad logo is being displayed, press F1 to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.

3. Use the up/down cursor keys to select Config and press Enter.

4. Select Advanced Setup and press Enter.

5. Select PCI and press Enter.

6. Select 2nd PCI and use thespace or - keys to change the IRQ setting.

7. Press F10 to save and exit the BIOS Setup Utility.
